Reading Material advice

Hello, I'm currently reading "Understanding Exposure" and plan on getting "The Digital Photography Book" but want to know if there are other books that have been helpful to you that you would recommend?

This is a great book on composition.

As some general advice take a trip to a bigger bookstore (one with a good amount of shelfspace) and have a browse at the specialist books - ie those for a certain type of photography you are interested in, like people, street, studio, wildlife, sports etc... and try to find ones which show settings and setup used to get certain shots - very good for building a general understanding of the settings people use and the effect they get when out in the field with different conditions.
Avoid most of the "digital camera" guide books as most of these just repeat what you manual and understanding exposure tell you

I agree. The basics of photography have not changed much in the last 100 years or so....so don't be afraid to visit the library and get some older books. Some of it will 'film' information, but things like exposure & composition will be good to read.
