I've just installed this the latest T3CH FAt build on to my XBOX and can get it to work (good news) but only when when i turn off my firewall (bad news)....
I've tried configuring my personal firewall to allow connections to and from the IP address of my XBOX but that didn't sort it.
How do i get round this issue ?
kind regards
I think i helped myself but thanks for being there
But what do I know?
Block Windows File Sharing - Prevents other computers from accessing shared files that are on this computer. Also prevents other computers from using shared printers that are attached to this computer. - Unless another rule specifically blocks file and print sharing, removing or modifying this rule permits other computers to access shared files that are at this computer and to use printers that are attached to this computer, or Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall prompts the user. The prompt allows the user to permit or disallow the communication, or to create a rule that allows the communication.

I just tried it again as I was typing and its working again but there is a 2-3 minute delay in opening up the folder. If I turn off norton it opens up straight away.
So I guess I have two problems 1) It doesn't work some of the time. 2) slow loading times, although thats not a big problem.
Any ideas whats causing this ?
There are other default rules on norton that may be affecting this but I don't understand the implications of turning stuff off.
below is a link to the default norton settings. Rule 6 looks like it may be an issue, can anyone advise?

thanks
Bypass by uninstalling it :)
My XBOX and PC are both Wireless
My xbox is hard modded with an evox dashboard
I'm connecting via SMB
I'm using the latest version of Norton Internet security
My PC doesn't have a login (I've only got one account set up) & theres no password to get in.
I don't think (m)any people would recommend norton as a firewall, I've never used it, but you can probably look up how to allow just your local xbox to pass through.
Disabling it is most likely not a problem if you're behind a gateway like a wireless router and trust the clients on your lan - bear in mind you've got no password
